The PiLog™ MDOM application offers various functionalities to help users identify commodities using relevant classification systems, classes, and data requirement statements for their business or industry. It serves as a corporate preferred dictionary for quality management and data acquisition.

  • Terminology and Classification Maintenance: Functions for creating and maintaining terminology, classification, and data requirements, such as cataloguing templates or specification sheets.

  • Integration with Open Technical Dictionary (eOTD): Management of the customer dictionary as a subset of eOTD, an ISO 22745 and ISO 8000 compliant dictionary with international and national standards and industry consortia terms.

MDOM Client Dictionary Manager

  • Interface Functionality: Acts as an interface between the Open Technical Dictionaries/registries and MDOM registries.

  • Class Selection and Requests: Allows users to select classes as corporate preferred and request new classes for inclusion in the eOTD.

MDOM Data Requirement Manager

  • Creation and Maintenance of Data Requirements: Enables users to create and maintain cataloguing templates.

  • Class Properties and Descriptions: Each class comes with a set of properties for class and item descriptions.

  • Integration with Company Lexicon: Incorporates a dictionary with terms and definitions, sometimes referred to as a company lexicon or vocabulary.

MDOM Classification Manager

  • Hierarchical Classifications: Tool for creating classifications for spend analysis or reporting requirements.

  • Mapping to Various Classifications: Allows mapping to classifications supported by eOTD, including UNSPSC, CPV, eCl@ss, GPC, FSC, NSC, and industry classifications.

MDOM Translation Manager

  • Automated Translation: Capability to automatically translate terminology and definitions into non-English languages.

  • Review and Approval Process: Users can review and approve machine-proposed translations.

  • Translation Status Views: Displays terms that are fully translated or need translation based on organizational languages.

MDOM Syndication Manager

  • Dictionary Syndication Module: Enables users to view the status of terms requested for inclusion in Organization ontology.

  • Ontology Updates and Publication: New terminology or data requirements can be added to the Organization ontology, downloaded, and published to the PiLog-MDRM's Dictionary module.

  • PiLog Preferred Ontology (PPO): A collection of domain-specific concepts with unique standardized definitions.

  • Content of the Ontology: Includes lists of noun/object, modifier/qualifier pairs, comprehensive definitions, identification guides, sample values, images linked to each class, manufacturer references, and industry specialist inputs.
